The University of Wyoming's College of Business has recognized Western States Bank (WSB) CEO Gary Crum as a distinguished alum. The award is given to select graduates for "outstanding professional and career accomplishments and their communities and alma mater", according to a WSB press release.

To receive the award, individuals must receive a nomination by a faculty or staff member from the College of Business, which is then voted on by the executive team. Criteria for the nomination includes: career accomplishments, and other pertinent information.

Crum grew up in Rawlins, Wyoming before attending Central Wyoming College and eventually earning a B.S. in Finance from the University of Wyoming. Crum earned his MBA from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Charmain for WSB, which is headquartered in Laramie, as well as Director for Bankers Bank of the West.

Of the honor, Crum says that he "would like to thank the University of Wyoming's College of Business and the faculty and staff for the distinguished award." Crum added that "UW's commitment to providing an outstanding business education is crucial to the development and success of our next generation of business leaders."
