It was 83 years ago today that America was introduced to the first beer sold in a can. It tasted pretty nasty because the cans were steel, not aluminum. And if you didn’t have a special opener, you went dry.

But finally, in 1959, Ermal Fraze invented the pull-tab and the world became a better place. So now what’s your choice?

It’s not like it used to be. The king has been dethroned.

Just down I-25 in Fort Collins, Budweiser is making what used to be “The King Of Beers.” But a new report says Budweiser is no longer one of the three top-selling beers in the U.S.

The top three barley-pops are all light beers; Bud Light, Coors Light, and Miller Lite.  Budweiser is now 4th.

Given the rise in micro-brews and changing tastes, what will be on tap at your Super Bowl party, if you’ll even be watching?

Here in Wyoming, as with most of the country, I suspect many don’t care about two east coast teams, though it seems that a large section of America want to see Tom Brady and the Patriots lose, according to my made up facts.

Also, NFL ratings are down this season and many will not watch because of the disrespect some players have shown our flag, our anthem and the men and women who sacrificed so much.

And now that the NFL has rejected an ad from a veterans group who wanted to air a simple ad during the Super Bowl asking people to stand for the national anthem, it may be even worse.

Personally, sorry NFL, I choose country over some over-paid players who want to push their politics in my face while I’m trying to relax and watch football. I have skipped this season, which was easy since the Broncos sucked so bad.

But, how do you feel?

Take the poll. Don’t worry, we won’t judge your choice.
