The Whiskey Myers Band is probably not a name that you have heard before, but they are a new southern rock country band based out of Texas who are making their way up the charts. The amazing thing is that the band has had no national radio airplay and their debut album "Firewater" is currently in the number three position for album sales in the iTunesmusic store; not an easy feat! I must admit that I am surprised by the number of bands coming out of Texas lately; being from Texas myself I had to give this band a look!

Pat Green is another country music artist out of Texas that has hit the big time nationally now and has been a favorite of mine for years. I loved his song "Wave on Wave". The single that triggered Whiskey Myer's success was “Bar, Guitar and a Honky Tonk Crowd,” and the Texas-based group jumped this week to No. 21 on Billboard’s Texas Regional Radio Report with the songs. Listen to the song and let us know what you think!

About The Whiskey Myers Band:
The Whiskey Myers Band's debut album, Road Of Life, established the five-piece from East Texas as a worthy heir to the Skynyrd blue-collar tradition.  The group’s sinewy sound and intense musical interplay is the foundation of their live show, and their hectic touring schedule (close to 150 shows in 2010) is testament to their prowess on stage.  The band's sophomore release, Firewater, is a formidable mix of Southern Rock and Outlaw Country and solidifies Whiskey Myers as a genre-blending diamond in the rough whose music has captured the attention of fans and critics alike.  Produced by former Shooter Jennings guitarist, Leroy Powell, and recorded at the famed Panhandle House in Denton, Texas, Firewater was released on April 26, 2011. Visit www.WhiskeyMyers.com for more info
