WYDOT Continues Installing Message Signs, Nighttime Closures Expected

There will be nighttime closures of a section of Interstate 80 near Laramie tonight going into early tomorrow morning.

The location is milepost 308.6 eastbound lane, approximately two miles west of Laramie.

Wyoming Department of Transportation crews will be installing another Overhead Dynamic Message Sign.

Road closure times will be 11 p.m. to midnight, 1 a.m. to 2 a.m., and 3 a.m. to 4 a.m.

This is one of several nighttime closures on Interstate 80 during this construction season to allow for the installation of Overhead Dynamic Message Signs. The location emphasis is on road sections that commonly experience unpredictable weather patterns.

The single, remaining location for the Overhead Dynamic Message Sign installation is at milepost 308.62 in the westbound lane, approximately two miles west of Laramie.

The contractor for the entire project is Custom Lighting Service out of West Jordan, Utah. The cost is $2.2 million and it is paid for by Federal Funds.
