If you're going to get people together, you may as well have a dance party. The celebration was on for the 12th Annual Wyoming Buddy Walk, which began at Washington Park in Laramie on Saturday.

The Wyoming Buddy Walk celebrates the lives of people with Down Syndrome and raises awareness about Down Syndrome in Wyoming. It is the main fundraiser for the Wyoming Down Syndrome Association.

Along with face painting, donuts and carnival games, the UW cheerleaders and Pistol Pete were there to join in on the dancing before participants walked to Tailgate Park for lunch ahead of the Wyoming football game. Planning committee member Joelle Ashley said the event really is about bringing families together that are affected by Down Syndrome around the state. Encana Oil & Gas provided hats, lunch and tickets to the Cowboy football game for all Buddy Walk participants.
