According to a study analyzing credit card transactions cross the country, customers in Wyoming are among the least generous tippers in the nation.

The credit card procession company Square compared tips left at various service based businesses, including restaurants, bars, taxis, and other vendors. With an average tip rate of 15.4%, customers in Wyoming rank as the fourth lowest in the country, trailing only South Dakota, Hawaii and Delaware.

The study also indicated that only 52.6 % of Wyoming customers will leave a tip of any kind, which ranks the as the fifth lowest percentage nationwide.

Customers in Alaska left the biggest tips, 17% on average. Arkansas, North Carolina, West Virginia and South Carolina rounded out the five best tipping states. Illinois has the highest percentage of tippers at 61.1%.
