The smallest state in America is living large. A new survey says both men and women in Wyoming are among the tallest in the country.

The CDC estimates the average man in the Cowboy State stands nearly 5'10" tall. Wyoming one of only 11 states with an average male height over 5'9". The average woman in Wyoming stands close to 5'5", ranking among the ten tallest states.

South Dakota is the tallest state for women, edging out Wyoming by under a centimeter. The shortest women live in Hawaii, with an average height under 5'3".

Hawaii also has the shortest men in the country, with an average height just over 5'7". Iowa and Alabama are the tallest states for men, with an average height just under 5'11".
