The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team reports for fall camp Thursday to prepare for the upcoming 2018 season.

Pete Cuadrado returns for his seventh season at Wyoming. The Cowgirls are coming off a tough 2017 season, which saw them finish 8-9-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the Mountain West. That was good for ninth place in the conference, and UW missed the postseason championships for the first time since 2012.

The Cowgirls return six starters, including senior Brittney Stark, who was named to the MW All-Newcomer team last year. She led Wyoming with eight goals and 18 points in 19 matches. Other key returners include seniors Taylor Burton, Morgan McDougal, and Jessie Gentle, as well as junior Michaela Stark. There’s a total of 16 letter winners back from last season.

Cuadrado addressed how last year began, but the finish wasn’t what they wanted. He also discussed how he feels they have the right "recipe" for success this season, their schedule and more.

By the way, that non-conference home unbeaten streak is at 13 and counting since 2013.

The 2018 season begins with an exhibition match at Central Florida Aug. 9. Their official season debut will be Aug. 16 at South Dakota. The Cowgirls first home match will be Sunday, Aug. 19 versus Utah Valley.
