Fans have a chance to see a ranked opponent for the first home dual of the season for the University of Wyoming wrestling team, as the Pokes take on No. 4 Oklahoma State University on Saturday. The matches will be hosted in the Arena-Auditorium following the Cowgirl game earlier that day.

The details
Doors open at 6 p.m., and action begins at 7 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. All youth wrestlers will get in for $3 by asking for the youth wrestling price. Fans also can take advantage of the "Beauty and the Beast" promotion, in which fans can bring a ticket stub from the 2 p.m. Cowgirl game versus Ball State and receive $3 off admission. There will be UW student textbook raffle, in which one UW student will win free textbooks for the 2014 spring semester.

A look at Wyoming
UW has earned a split this season in dual action, with a win over Boise State (17-15) and a loss to No. 2 Minnesota (41-5). In their most recent action, the Cowboys finished 14th in the team standings with two placers at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

Just one UW wrestler appears in the InterMat polls, junior Tyler Cox, who is eighth at 125 pounds with a 13-3 mark. But he leads a group of talented and young competitors, each of whom have won 10 or more matches. That includes juniors Brandon Richardson (11-5 overall), Dakota Friesth (12-4) and Shane Woods (10-3). Add a contingent of redshirt freshmen like Cole Mendenhall (10-3), Brent Havlik (11-3) and Benjamin Stroh (11-4), and UW has a solid lineup.

A look at Oklahoma State
The fourth-ranked Stillwater Cowboys are 1-2 so far, with a win over Bucknell and a loss to in-state rival Oklahoma in the first edition of Bedlam on Dec. 1, 16-15. OSU also dropped their most recent dual to No. 2 Minnesota (16-15) in Stillwater. Oklahoma State will wrestle Northern Colorado in a dual at noon Saturday before heading north to Laramie to face Wyoming.

OSU has nine ranked wrestlers, headlined by 2013 national champion Chris Perry at 174 pounds, who is second in the rankings.

UW hopes to knock off Oklahoma State for the first time ever Saturday. Wyoming is 0-16-1 against OSU in 17 meetings since 1956.
