University of Wyoming Cowgirl head tennis coach Dean Clower has been tabbed as the 2015 Mountain West women's tennis coach of the year.

This is the first type of honor given to a Cowgirl tennis coach. The award was selected by the league's head coaches.

Clower led the Cowgirls to a second place finish at the recent Mountain West Championships. They ended with a 15-6 overall record and went 5-0 in conference matches. After victories over San Diego State and top-seed Fresno State, UW lost to New Mexico in the championship match, 4-2.

Wyoming recorded several firsts this season. They set a record for single season wins with 15. They finished tied for first in the Mountain West Conference. The Cowgirls also tied their school record with five wins in league action.

Clower is the all-time winningest coach in school history. His record is now 50-34 through four seasons as head coach. The 18 victories in Mountain West matches is also the most in school history.  At least two Cowgirls have earned All-Mountain West honors in each of his four years.
