Wyoming sophomore middle blocker Reed Copeland has selected as the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week.

Copeland led the Cowgirls to a 2-0 record to begin MW play last week. She had a season-high 11 total blocks in the opener against San Jose State. That included seven total blocks in the first set versus the Spartans in a three-set sweep.

In the second MW win against Fresno State, Copeland added three more blocks in another three-set sweep.

On the weekend, the sophomore had six kills versus San Jose State and seven against the Bulldogs.

This is the first MW Player of the Week honor in Copeland’s career. It also marks the first MW weekly honor for a Cowgirl since Allison Waldvogel last September.

Wyoming volleyball is off to a 6-0 start at home and is on a current three-match win streak.

The Cowgirls head to Utah State Saturday for their only match this week.
