Wyoming’s Hill Garners Player of the Week Honor
For the second time in his career Wyoming sophomore running back Brian Hill was selected as the Mountain West Football Player of the Week on offense.
Hill ran for 232 yards on a career-high 35 carries in the Cowboys 35-28 victory over UNLV last Saturday. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry and scored one touchdown; a 72-yard run in the second quarter. Hill’s rushing total was the most in the Mountain West during week 13 and fourth-most in the nation. It was the fifth time in his career that Hill surpassed 200 yards on the ground in a game, and the fourth time he did it during the 2015 season.
With two receptions for 18 yards, Hill finished the game with 250 all-purpose yards.
Hill also set a new single-season record for rushing yards with 1,631 yards, breaking the previous mark of 1,455 yards set by Ryan Christopherson in 1994.
San Diego State junior defensive back Malik Smith and Colorado State senior punt returner Joe Hansley were the MW Football Players of the Week on defense and special teams, respectively.
