If you watched the 140th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on television this week, you'll be pleased to know that Wyoming was well represented at the prestigious event.

Of the over 3,000 dogs who competed in New York City this year, four of them were from right here in the Cowboy State.

Wyoming's top dog was Kiara, a Miniature American Shepherd shown by Jerisha Ganske of Gillette. On Monday, Kiara was named "Best of Opposite Sex" in her breed, an award given to the best opposite sex entry of the winning dog in breed.

This year's "Best in Show" award went to C.J., a German Shorthaired Pointer from California. Interestingly enough, C.J.'s grandmother Carlee was named "Best in Show" at Westminster in 2005.

Who knows, maybe Kiara's grandson will follow in her footsteps and be named "Best in Breed" at Westminster 2027?
