The national travel site Thrillist recently published an article listing "22 American Foods You've Never Had". Among their choices for the best rare regional foods in the country is a popular Wyoming dish called 'Pitchfork Fondue'.
Indigenous to Wyoming, Idaho and the Dakotas, Pitchfork Fondue takes cowboy cookouts to the next level. The process involves skewering meat on a pitchfork and then cooking it in a giant vat of lard.
