Longtime County Commissioner Tim Chesnut was arrested Tuesday morning for driving under the influence by Deputy McGlocklin of the Albany County Sheriff's Office.

Chesnut has been serving as a county commissioner since 1999. He is currently up for re-election, competing with fellow Democrat Pete Gosar and Republicans Heber Richardson and Jerry Kennedy in the November 6 general election.

The Laramie Boomerang reported that Chesnut had a blood alcohol content of .13 according to the citation issued during the stop. The legal limit is .08. The paper also reported that Chesnut appeared in Circuit Court and the judge set a $1,000 bond. A full report of the arrest has been completed, but not released.

Chesnut has a Circuit Court appearance set for November 8.
