Dave Christensen Fined and Suspended by Wyoming AD Tom Burman
University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced on Monday that head football coach Dave Christensen is suspended for one week and has been fined $50,000 for his actions after the Air Force game. Christensen was informed on Monday morning of Burman’s decision.
Laramie Advances to Wyoming State Volleyball Tournament
The Laramie High School volleyball team finished third at the 4A East Regional Volleyball Tournament in Gillette this weekend. The Lady Plainsmen earned the No. 3 seed at the Wyoming State Volleyball Tournament which will start in Casper on Thursday.

Now that we’re well into fall sports and winter sports have started practicing at the University of Wyoming, we’re wondering if anybody misses the Mountain West’s cable channel The Mtn. While many complained about the availability of the station and the quality of the broadcasting, it was still a station dedicated solely to covering teams in the Mountain West.

Wyoming Loses Homecoming Game to Air Force, 28-27

Brett Smith watched from the sideline as Wyoming lost to Air Force, 28-27, during homecoming in Laramie on Saturday. It was the Cowboys fourth loss this year by seven points or less, and they remain win-less (0-3) at home in 2012.
Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 Holding Coronation Ball in Laramie
Laramie’s own Holly Kennedy will be kicking off her year as Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 with a Coronation Ball on October 20th at WyoTech’s West Laramie Campus. The event will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a live auction to help Kennedy raise funds for her year as Wyoming rodeo royalty.

Scaramie Invites Trick or Treaters to Downtown Laramie

Kids of all ages are invited to put on a costume and head to downtown Laramie for tricks or treats during Scaramie on Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to noon. Over 3,000 people celebrated Halloween with Scaramie last year according to the Laramie Main Street Alliance and they’re hoping for another good turnout.

Search Begins for Next UW President
The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is hoping to announce the next UW President in February of 2013. Board President David Bostrom said they want to find a successor for Tom Buchanan, who will retire next summer, as soon they can.
