I started doing radio news at KOWB in Laramie in September 2015, and I was brought up to Casper in late November 2016. I’ve had the good fortune of working for people who have taken the time to help me become a better reporter – pretty lucky for a guy who had no previous experience. I was born in Boise, Idaho, and I grew up in a suburb on the north end of the Treasure Valley. I played football for most of my childhood, spent a whole lot of time in the mountains, and found myself learning how to play drums in my late teens. I’ve lived in Laramie since 2010, where I met the woman who would become my fiancé. She is just about done with law school at the University of Wyoming. I drive to Laramie just about every weekend so I can spend time with her and our rabbit. Drumming turned out to be my passion. I found it by accident after I got hurt during football practice ahead of the 2007 season, when I was a junior in high school. The injury was serious enough that I had to lay in bed for a month, then miss the entire football season. So, needing something else to do, I spent some money I had made mowing lawns on a drum kit. I’m currently playing in four bands, which seems to be the right number. When I’m not covering the news or hanging out with the rabbit, you can usually find me behind the drums.
