
Cheyenne Man Charged with Pistol-Whipping Man
A 35-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to 11-and-a-half years in prison after admittedly striking a man on the head with a revolver.
According to an affidavit, police were called to a fight involving a gun in an alley near 3117 Dillon Avenue on March 22.
The victim told police that Travis Wieser had approached him in an aggressive manner about a log that was taken from his property and pointed a revolver at him.
Feeling like he was in immediate danger, the victim tried to disarm Wieser and a fight ensued, leading Wieser to strike the victim two times on the head with the revolver.
Police say the victim had a cut above his right eye and injuries on the back of his head.
Wieser was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery-threatens with weapon, simple battery and reckless endangering-firearm.
Wieser is free on a $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 30 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
