The Dixie Chicks’ Best Live Shots [PICTURES]
The Dixie Chicks, made of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily strayer (formerly Emily Robison), released their major-label debut record, Wide Open Spaces, 20 years ago on Jan. 27, 1998. It was, to say the least, a hit: The record has been certified diamond by the RIAA, and remains beloved two decades later.
Since then, the Dixie Chicks have given their fans many more years of their harmonic sound. Their other studio albums -- Fly, Home and Taking the Long Way -- have been certified diamond, six-times patinum and two-times platinum, respectively. The Grammy Awards-winning group has also released live and compilation albums: Top of the World Tour: Live, Playlist: The Very Best of Dixie Chicks, Essential Dixie Chicks and DCX MMXVI Live.
On the road, the Dixie Chicks have supported many famous acts -- including Clay Walker, George Strait, Tim McGraw and the Eagles -- giving them firsthand experience for putting on a great country show. Their most recent tour, the DCX MMXVI World Tour, was their fifth headlining trek; the trio played many of their best-loved songs, as well as covers of Prince, Beyonce, Patty Griffin and more.
