Elderly Woman Accidentally Throws Diamond Ring in the Garbage

Recently, we told you about a man who accidentally threw his wife’s $10,000 engagement ring in the trash. Well, as unlikely as it seems, an elderly woman in Massachusetts recently lost a piece of jewelry the same way.

Joan Sawyer of Bedford, NY found herself in a predicament when she accidentally threw her family heirloom diamond ring away in the trash. After making a panicked call to her local sanitation department, Sawyer and her husband then waited nervously as workers sifted through 10 tons of trash in search of the ring.
