Question:

In the past few years, the fogging truck for mosquitoes passed much slower. This year, the truck seems to be going down the streets much faster, is it even very effective?

Answer:

"City fog trucks are equipped with a GPS antenna that is mated with a small on board computer which continuously monitors the vehicle speed. The computer then adjusts the variable flow chemical pump to flow at the correct rate to match the ground speed. The automated system is calibrated to operate correctly between 0-20 mph. This feature allows operators to move more quickly in areas where the street is utilized for fogging and still be at the correct rate when moving more slowly in alleyways. This GPS tracking system also allows us to produce maps of the fogging route that are provided daily on our webpage.
