Former Vanderbilt Wideout Commits to Wyoming
LARAMIE -- Wyoming's passing game added a new weapon Saturday.
Devin Boddie Jr., a graduate transfer from Vanderbilt, announced via social media he has committed to the Cowboys, becoming the second transfer portal player to join the program this offseason.
The senior slot receiver has three years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Memphis product snagged just three passes for 61 yards during an injury riddled 2022 campaign in which he appeared in just six games. After not seeing the field during his first two seasons in Nashville, Boddie had his breakout season in 2021, hauling in 29 balls for 263 yards and a touchdown.
Boddie twice has caught six passes in a single outing, including against Wyoming's Border War rival Colorado State during a 24-21 victory over the Rams. His best outing came against Mississippi State that season when he finished with 69 yards receiving, 61 of which came on one play.
A three-star prospect out of Whitehaven High School, Boddie racked up 2,300 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns during his prep career, including 34 grabs for 577 yards and seven scores while leading his team to the 6A state championship game.

The Shreveport, Louisiana native was named to the All-State team as a senior. He also earned All-Region honors during his last two prep seasons and participated in the 2018 Tennessee East-West All-Star Classic.
Boddie also received official offers from Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Arkansas State and Tulsa out of high school.
Boddie joins former Northern Illinois running back Harrison Waylee in this season's recruiting class. The junior inked with Wyoming in December.
The Cowboys featured the 125th-ranked (out of 131 FBS teams) passing offense in the nation last fall, averaging just 132.2 yards per game through the air. UW lost its leading receiver, Joshua Cobbs, to the transfer portal. Cobbs caught a team-high 35 passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns in 2022.
Sophomore wideout Tyrese Grant also tossed his name in the portal this offseason after not recording a reception during his three-year tenure in Laramie.
Wyoming has lost a total of eight players to the transfer portal: Joey Braasch, Cam Stone, Oluwaseyi Omotosho, Akili Bonner, Keonte Glinton, Zaire Jackson, Cobbs and Grant.
The Cowboys might not be done adding players this weekend.
A source tells 7220sports a cornerback could commit as early as this afternoon. The program has also extended an offer to former Boise State wide receiver Jalen Richmond, per his social media post.
Wyoming also received a commitment from edge rusher Ethan Day from Modesto Junior College Friday.
