Gas Leak Forces Evacuation on 17th Street [UPDATE]
UPDATE: The Laramie Police Department said in an update yesterday at about 9 p.m. that the evacuation order was lifted and the area was safe.
==================================================================
A one block evacuation has been issued on 17th street. As of publication, there is not yet an estimated time for residents in the area to return to their homes.
The disturbance occurred on Thursday afternoon when a company doing work in the alley hit a gas line. Further complications forced an evacuation of the area. Black Hills Energy is currently working to contain the leak.
