Granite Hot Springs Named The Most Romantic Place In Wyoming
What's the most romantic site in Wyoming? Evidently, it's not the alley behind the Buckhorn Bar in Laramie. The most passionate place in the Cowboy State is Granite Hot Springs, according to a new MSN list.
Near the convergence of the Granite and Hoback Rivers in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the picturesque pool lures lovebirds with scenic waterfalls surrounded by four mountain ranges and towering spruce, fir, and pine trees. Adventurous couples also enjoy the seclusion and privacy of the alpine paradise, which is only accessible by snowmobile, skiing, or a dog sled in the winter.
Even in the summer, getting to Granite Hot Springs requires some extra effort, but it's well worth the trip. It's only 30 miles from Jackson, but the winding, dirt road off U.S. Route 191 can be rough at times. Several campsites are located around the pools, along with bathrooms, picnic tables, and a parking area.
Another regional landmark, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, was crowned the most romantic place in Colorado on the list. The famed music venue, located west of Denver near the town of Morrison, also hosts a museum, restaurant, and a 640-acre park.
