The entire month of October will be taken up with all kinds of birthday celebrations for one of the most iconic parts of country music, The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.  For instance, Randy Travis, recently the subject of a health scare on stage in Texas, will be honored  on October 4th.  But there’s a whole bunch more planned.

Of course, the Travis tribute will be worthy of Randy’s 25 years in the business and his long-time membership with the Opry.  The guest list for Randy’s shindig include Carrie Underwood, the legendary Connie Smith and Josh Turner.

The Opry’s official 86th Birthday Bash Weekend will be held Friday, October 7th and Saturday October 8th.  Legends will abound, of course, including Charley Pride, Ronnie Dunne and Rascal Flatts.  There is also a matiness performance on Saturday afternoon featuring  Mel Tillis.

GAC TV will be broadcasting the birthday party live at 7 Mountain Time.

Still scheduled to make appearances on stage in October are artists Chris Young, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, LeAnn Rimes, Mongomer Gentery, Sara Evansk, Scotty McCreery and Trace Adkins.  That performance is slated for October 11th.

There are probably many more special events planned to honor the Opry’s 86th and we’ll keep you informed as they become known.

Stay tuned
