Interesting find from the audio archives - the 1986 national syndication debut of Howard Stern, who would eventually become known as the "King Of All Media." Howard's unique brand of risque content and envelope-pushing earned him a broader national audience, but apparently was a bit over the line for Cody, Wyoming affiliate KTAG-FM, whose local management at the time promptly cancelled Stern after just one hour on the air, an hour which involved spankings, a dominatrix, and more - what would become known as typical Howard.
Upon learning Cody was the lone holdout (and initially confusing their geography as a Colorado town) - Howard and co-host Robin Quivers called KTAG directly, broadcasting the conversation live to a now national audience, to make their case. See how it turned out:
