LARAMIE -- Wyoming Cowgirls Golf will compete against another deep field at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate this Friday through Sunday on the University of Denver Golf Course at Highlands Ranch.
UW is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic last week at Ptarmigan Country Club in Windsor, Colo.
Meghan Vogt posted the lowest 36-hole total in program history at -7 through the first two rounds and led the Cowgirls finishing tied for 25th in the tournament. Kyla Wilde finished tied for 31st at the event hosted by Colorado State.
Joining the two seniors in the starting lineup are sophomore Samantha Spielman and freshmen Lucia Morelli and Erika Cook.
UW is looking for more consistency playing three rounds over three days on the Pioneers' par 72, 6,611-yard home course.
In addition to DU, the competitive field includes Colorado, Colorado State, Hawaii, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, New Mexico, San Diego State, Texas State, Tulane, UNLV, Wichita State and Xavier.
"We have been fortunate to take advantage of this wonderful fall weather to have a solid week of preparation," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "Highlands Ranch Golf Course is a familiar setting for our upperclassmen, and we will rely on them again. I believe our first two tournaments have prepared us well, not only for the course set up but for the national caliber field."
The Cowgirls will conclude the fall schedule at the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Invitational Oct. 21-23 in Kapolei, Hawaii.
