BOISE, Idaho – The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team dropped a four-set match on the road Saturday, losing to Boise State.

Set scores went 25-17, 25-22, 17-25 and 25-18.

The Cowgirls (11-2, 0-2 MW) actually out-hit the Broncos (5-6, 2-0 MW) in the contest, .221 and .204. Although, a lot of that damage was done in UW’s third set victory, where it hit .406. Wyoming also had 13 team blocks to Boise’s 11. The biggest difference in the contest came at the service line as the Broncos recorded six aces while Wyoming had just one and committed 11 service errors.

Tierney Barlow and Corin Carruth provided the best offense Saturday in the loss. Barlow led the way with 17 kills and hit an efficient, .469. Carruth, meanwhile, had 15 kills in the match. Rylee Schulz added nine with Sarah Holcomb chipping in seven kills.

At the net, Wyoming got a couple of solid performances as Barlow led the way with seven total blocks. Kasia Partyka had six of her own and Holly Eastridge added five. In the back row, defensively, Skylar Erickson had a team-best 16 digs while Sierra Grizzle and Partyka added 13 each.

The 13 digs, to go along with 47 assists for Partyka, gave her the sixth double-double of the season. With her 47 assists today, Partyka now moves onto the Wyoming top-10 career assists list with 1,748 in her short career in the Brown & Gold.

Wyoming looks for its first Mountain West win next week as it returns home for its home conference openers. The Cowgirls host UNLV Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and San Diego State Saturday night at 7:30. Saturday’s match against SDSU will be held in the Arena-Auditorium.
