Ezell Announces Trio of New Cowgirl Additions

LARAMIE -- Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball Head Coach Heather Ezell has announced the addition of a trio of student-athletes, who signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
Wyoming will welcome in Heidur Karlsdottir, Karoline Lundin and Fia Proctor beginning next fall.
“We are excited to add Heidur, Karoline and Fia to our Cowgirl Basketball program,” said Ezell. “All three of them are basketball junkies, that have the chance to make an immediate impact on our team. They all had very successful prep and club careers, that will help them at the collegiate level.”
Heidur Karlsdottir | 6-4 | Forward/Center | Reykholt, Iceland
Karlsdottir helped lead her Junior Team to a 2022 Cup Championship while also leading the Senior squad to the regular season championship. Karlsdottir has also been named to multiple Icelandic National Teams. She was selected for the U16, U18 (twice) and U20 national teams. She was also selected to the Team of the Week in the Premier League in Iceland, twice and was named the 2021 and 2022 Reykdaelir Athlete of the Year. Karlsdottir was also named the Fjolnir Best Icelandic Women’s Basketball Player for the 2022-23 season.
“We are excited to bring Heidur and her family into our program,” said Ezell.
“She has the ability to make an impact right away with her length and athleticism. She can play both inside and outside on both ends of the floor in our system.”
Karoline Lundin | 5-9 | Guard/Forward | Copenhagen, Denmark
Lundin was a part of multiple Danish National Teams (U16, U18 and U20) and currently plays for Marbo Basket in the Sweden-Damligan League. So far this season, Lundin is averaging 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and an assist per game. Last summer in the FIBA U18 European Championships, Lundin averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and nearly two assists in seven games at the tournament.
“Karoline and her family are a big addition to the Brown & Gold,” said Ezell.
“She brings a high basketball IQ to the team thanks to her international play. That will give her the chance to make an immediate impact.”
Fia Proctor | 6-2 | Forward | Bothell, Wash.
Proctor, who has been with the varsity team at Bothell High School since her freshman year, helped lead Bothell to the Round of 12 at the Washington 4A State Championship last season. Proctor was selected to the Brooks Scouting Report All-Star Game following her junior season and helped lead her club team, EBC Elite to the Nike Tournament of Champions title her sophomore year. Proctor has also been an excellent student at Bothell, receiving the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award four times for three different sports (basketball, track and volleyball) and is a member of the ASB Honor Class.
“Fia and her family are a perfect addition to Cowgirl Basketball,” said Ezell.
“She has the ability to play multiple positions on both ends of the court. She can score in multiple ways that will fit well within our motion offense.”
