Former Wyoming QB Josh Allen Shares Thoughts on HOF Induction
LARAMIE -- Craig Bohl Tuesday paid a visit to Bills training camp.
You may have heard.
Wyoming's former head coach was just stopping by to say hello to one of his former players. That man is Josh Allen.

The duo, who led the Cowboys to the 2016 Mountain West Championship game, shared pleasantries and spent time chatting post-practice. They even posed for a photo.
Allen, who threw for 5,066 yards and 44 touchdowns in essentially two seasons as a starter in Laramie, was selected No. 7 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Since, the California product has taken the league by storm, leading Buffalo to five consecutive AFC East crowns and last winter he was named the MVP.
He has accounted for 26,434 passing yards and a whopping 195 touchdowns through the air. He's found the end zone with his legs an additional 65 times.
All of that damage has come over seven seasons.
Hall of Fame worthy? A Lombardi Trophy would all but cement that question.
While Canton will have to wait, Laramie won't. Allen will be enshrined this September. The media today in Rochester asked him about that honor.
"It's very cool to be remembered there," the 29-year-old told the local media. "You know, coach Bohl and the University of Wyoming, obviously, I wouldn't be here without them. It's very cool to be honored by something so close and near to my heart."
Bohl, who roamed the sidelines inside War Memorial Stadium from 2014 to 2023, told reporters the impact Allen had during his college days.
"He transformed the state," he said to a throng of reporters. "Wyoming had enjoyed a proud history of great football way, way back, but we had fallen on hard times. He made people in the state proud and gave them a real sense of, you know, what we can accomplish, a lot. So, for him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is certainly right and I'm happy for him."
Allen needed some refining, Bohl added. He also needs to learn how to slide, instead of taking big hits or leaping over oncoming defenders, he joked.
But is he shocked his former signal caller has tasted so much success at the highest level?
"Sometimes I'll sit by my fire, have a whiskey and sometimes think, 'That's the MVP of the National Football League,'" Bohl said with a smile. "I mean, that's pretty remarkable."
Allen's Hall of Fame induction will take place Friday, Sept. 5 inside the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. He will not be in attendance. The Bills open their regular season two nights later against the Baltimore Ravens.
