LARAMIE -- Time to take a victory lap.

I won. For the first time in six damn years, I finally won a weekly pick 'em. I am finally tied for dead last in the standings.

Man, this feels good.

On a serious note, Wyoming hasn't won a game in San Jose since 1996. That's three straight losses in the Bay Area. The results haven't been ideal against the Spartans no matter where this game is played. Those guys have claimed five of the last six in the series. A win Saturday and we are all tied up at 7-7 all-time.

A million paper cuts did the Cowpokes in against San Diego State. Two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, certainly didn't help. A defensive lapse -- or two -- in the secondary, erased a seven-point advantage in the fourth quarter.

There were overthrows, dropped balls, missed tackles, clock mismanagement and questionable coaching decisions. What else is new?

Just when it looked like this team might have turned a corner in its first win of the year over Air Force, boom ... five losses in six outings.

Can they turn things around against an upstart Spartan team that is just two possessions away from being 6-0? We'll see.

Here are last week's standings:

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
