(EDITOR'S NOTE: This story was written before the 2019 matchup between Wyoming and Utah State inside Logan's Maverik Stadium. These two will meet again this Saturday in Laramie. It's the 73rd time in history these programs have met on the football field. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.)

LOGAN, Utah -- Tomorrow, when the Cowboys and Aggies meet for the 70th time in the history of the schools, plenty is on the line.

Wyoming can spoil Utah State's chances of a Mountain West title bid. The Pokes can also solidify their bowl chances with win No. 7.

Most importantly, there is some hardware on the line -- Jim Bridger's rifle.

This will be the seventh time these two programs have battled for this unique traveling trophy, a .50-caliber Rocky Mountain Hawken rifle. The Aggies are 4-2 in the series since the trophy was introduced.

Utah State claimed it last season with a 24-16 win in Laramie.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
