UW Caps Bobcat Desert Classic with School Record Team Score

GOODYEAR, Ariz., – The Wyoming Cowgirl golfers wrap up the regular season on a high note breaking the school record for scoring in a 54-hole event with a team score of 871 (+7) on Wednesday at the Bobcat Desert Classic at the Golf Club at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
The Cowgirls finished tied for third for the best finish of the season.
The previous school record was 876 (+12) at the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Fall classic in September of 2022.
Morgan Ryan led the Cowgirls for her first career top-10 finish tying for 10th at 215 (-1) for the lowest tournament of her career. She shot a 74 (+3) for the final round. Jadan Gonzalez tied for 22nd with a 219 (+3) for the event after a 77 (+5) on Wednesday.
Kyla Wilde finished with a 75 (+3) on Wednesday and finished right outside the top-25 tying for 26th at 220 (+4). Tomine Bjerkelo finished at 225 (+9) for a tie for 56th. Grace Dunkleberger added a 230 (+14). Sophie Spiva was at 228 (+12) and Samantha Spielman at 235 (+19).
Grand Canyon was the champion at 11-under par followed by Seattle at eight-under. Wyoming tied with Cal Baptist and Idaho for third. Rivekka Jumaglova of Seattle won the event at 12 under-par.
The Cowgirls return to action at the Mountain West Championships next Tuesday through Thursday in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
