Cheyenne Welcomes The Cap City Aviators To Summer Baseball
Wyoming welcomes a second Independence League Baseball summer wood bat league team. The Cap City Aviators will represent Cheyenne and will play around the league for the first time this summer.
For the majority of the season, the Aviators will play on the road and kick off their season in Casper to face the Spuds in their ILB debut. Like the other teams in the league, the players are all college players who are looking to continue playing ball through the summer.
Even though they will be on the road for most of their 25 games this season, the Aviators will hold the Cap City Youth Baseball Clinic on Monday, June 15, for youth ages 7-14 at Pioneer Park in Cheyenne.
The event will serve as the team's official introduction to its hometown fans and is expected to feature a full evening of baseball, community involvement, and family fun.
Youth Athletes ages 7-14U are invited to the Cap City Aviators Youth Baseball Clinic! Athletes (ages 7-14) will be on the field from 1:00 - 3:00 pm with the Aviators collegiate players. The camp will cost $25 per camper, and by attending this clinic, young athletes will receive coaching in hitting, pitching, fielding, and throwing from college baseball players and coaches! All participants will receive an Aviator's souvenir.
To sign your young ballplayer up for the camp, you can follow this link: CAP CITY AVIATORS KIDS CAMP.
After the camp, the players will be invited to stick around to watch the Aviators and Casper Spuds take batting practice before the Aviators' home opener.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Admission to the game will be free for all fans thanks to the generous support of the Wyoming Air National Guard and Donate Life Wyoming. Organizers encourage families, baseball enthusiasts, and community members from across the region to attend and experience independent baseball in Cheyenne.
