Wyoming’s Ready For An Unforgettable Longmire Days In July
I'm not shy about saying that the Longmire book series is one of my favorites. I especially love listening to the audiobook versions of them. The narrator is Hall of Fame voice actor George Guidall, and he captures your attention with his narration. While author Craig Johnson grabs you with the story.
Everyone has a different opinion on whether it's better to read the book first or watch the Longmire TV series first, but I'll tell ya that watching the series before I listened to the books really helped me. I had a picture in my head of what the characters looked like, how they walked and talked, and even their facial expressions.
Attending Longmire Days in Durant (Buffalo), WY, was also a big influence in being a fan of the series. If you haven't gone yet, you should make it a priority in 2026. The Longmire Foundation, the group behind the event, has just announced the events taking place this July.
Just like in prior years, for one weekend, Buffalo turns into Durant, and Longmire comes to life. Longmire Days begins on Thursday, July 16, and will run through Sunday, July 19. Also, the net proceeds from the weekend are donated to community organizations.
Not only does Buffalo change its name for a few days, but the actors from the TV series who played Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor), Ruby (Louanne Stephens), Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez), Bob Barnes (John Bishop), and the New York Times Bestselling author of the Longmire series, Craig Johnson, are all in town.
Tickets for the events will go on sale soon on the Longmire Days website, but all the events have been announced and are listed below.
