Roller Derby in Laramie is back! The Naughty Pines return to the track on Saturday at the Laramie Ice and Events Center.

After a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pines have spent the last 18 months rebuilding and preparing for a return to competitive gameplay. They’re excited to return for the upcoming season and start recruiting and training more skaters, volunteers, and officials.

The Pines are inviting the public to their game against Denver Roller Derby’s Standbys on Saturday at 7 p.m. The doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for those ages 13 and up. Kids 12 and under are free. Food, beer, and merchandise are sold on-site, and there is an after-party for all skaters, volunteers, and fans at O’Dwyers.

The Naughty Pines were founded in 2009. They began as a recreation team and grew into a WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) member league. In their most recent WFTDA competitive season, the Pines were ranked in the top 150 teams in the world. They also won their second Wyoming state championship at the 2019 WyoCup.

The Pines want to take advantage of the recent increase in roller skating’s popularity. The 2023 squad has several new bouting skaters along with returning teammates. They are Laramie locals, so you might know one of the skaters.

You can find more information on the Naughty Pines at NPDD.org or find them on Facebook and Instagram.
