Laramie Authorities Trying To Identify Owner Of Biting Dog
Officials with the Laramie Animal Control are trying to find out who owns a dog that bit someone on January 3.
That's according to a post on the Laramie Police Department Facebook page.
Probably Not The Same Dog As In December 23 Biting incident
While Animal Control put out a similar notice about a dog bite attack on December 23, an official with the Laramie Animal Shelter says investigators don't believe the two attacks were perpetrated by the same animal, although he says they can't be 100 percent certain since the dog from the December biting incident has not been identified.
But the descriptions of the two animals are different. The December biting dog is described as "a brown Brindle pit bull mix, about 40-50 pounds, thin build with erect ears, wearing a faded purple collar and no tags.''.
The animal in the January 3 is described as "a medium size black dog with no collar.''
The more recent dog bite happened around 1:30 p.m. in the Jefferson St./Lincoln St. area.
Anyone with information is being asked to call Animal Control at (307) 721-5385 or non-emergency dispatch at (307) 721-2526, reference case 25-00140.
Officials say it's important to identify the dog to make sure it was vaccinated against rabies. Along the same lines they remind people that it's important to report dog bites because of rabies concerns.
