2025 Milward Simpson Award Sights-Sounds [VIDEO]
The 2025 Milward Simpson Awards ceremony was last Saturday in Cody, WY. This was the 50th edition of the honor, which is considered the most prestigious a prep athlete can earn in their high school career here in Wyoming. Congratulations to Lauren Olsen from Douglas and Jase Burton of Star Valley, who were the overall female and male winners.
The ceremony was emceed by Rob Cragoe, a former Simpson Award winner in 1976, and Jenelle Andrade, a former Simpson Award winner in 1987. The two presented the five female and five male finalists, who all received an award plaque. The resume of the finalists proves how tough it is to select the overall winners.
Also part of the ceremony were remarks by Pete Simpson, one of the children of Milward Simpson, whom the award is named after. This was the first year that former Senator Alan Simpson was not at the ceremony following his passing earlier this year. His widow, Ann, was in attendance, along with one of their sons, Colin Simpson. Pete and Colin addressed the audience.
