Jason Borders of Powell Enters the Wyoming Legion Baseball Hall of Fame
Powell coach Jason Borders, another longtime baseball servant in Wyoming, was inducted into the Wyoming American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024. Borders was recognized in Powell, as they hosted the A State Tournament. He received his plaque at the opening ceremonies on July 27.
Borders has been around the Pioneers program for nearly four decades. He played for Powell in the 1980s. Jason has coached baseball for over 30 years, 20 of those in American Legion Baseball. His first stint coaching with Powell was from 1998 to 2001 as an assistant and head coach. He returned in 2009 for six seasons (assistant – 3 years & head coach – 3 years) before he ventured to Lovell for six years. Borders returned to Powell as head coach in 2021 and guided the Pioneers to back-to-back Class A state championships in 2023 and 2024. He has three state championships on his head coaching resume and has been named Coach of the Year.
