The post-season has arrived for 11 of Wyoming’s Single-A American Legion Baseball teams. The Best-of-3 series outcomes will decide most of the seeding at the state tournament, which starts on July 24 in Sheridan. The host Jets receive an automatic bid to the state tournament, so they will not play in the playoff series this week. Also, the top two seeds in the West Conference do not play in a playoff series. That is Cody and Powell, who both went 7-3 in conference action, but the Cubs swept the two head-to-head conference games to win the tiebreaker. Cody will be the West Conference No. 1 seed, and Powell will be the No. 2.

WYOPREPS SINGLE-A AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL PLAYOFF SERIES 2025

In the Single-A East, Casper earned the top seed with a 12-4 record. Wheatland and Torrington tied for second at 11-5, but the Lobos won the tiebreaker on runs allowed in their two head-to-head conference games. Sheridan was fourth at 10-6. Then, Gillette (9-7) was fifth, Laramie A (8-8) sixth, Douglas (6-10) was seventh, and the Cheyenne Eagles (5-11) were eighth. Buffalo forfeited the remainder of their season and will not participate in the postseason. That sets up a one-game play-in on Monday between the Cats and Eagles in Douglas. The winner will advance to a Best-of-3 series at Casper.

All but one Best-of-3 series will be on Thursday and Friday. Evanston will host Riverton on Tuesday and Wednesday, because Evanston hosts the Class C State Tournament starting on Thursday.

MONDAY, JULY 14:

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 9 Douglas Cats 5 - 1 game play-in - Cats are eliminated - The Eagles scored 8 runs over the last 3 innings to rally from a 5-1 deficit. They scored 4 in the top of the 7th to win it. The go-ahead run scored on an error, and they added 3 more on a 2-run double by Stephenson and an RBI single by Aragon. Stephenson & Nelson had 2 hits & 2 RBIs to lead the Cheyenne offense. Mitchell added 3 hits & scored 2 runs. Douglas got a solo HR from Robertson, and Lewis had 2 hits & 1 RBI.

TUESDAY, JULY 15:

Final Score: Riverton Raiders 14 Evanston Outlaws 6 - Riverton jumped out with 10 runs in the 1st inning. Baker homered among 2 hits & 4 RBIs, Anderson added 3 hits & 3 RBIs, and the Raiders capitalized on 9 walks and 2 errors.

Final Score: Riverton Raiders 12 Evanston Outlaws 1 - Outlaws eliminated; Riverton qualifies for the state tournament - Baker allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 13 strikeouts for the Raiders. They scored 4 in the 1st and broke it open with 5 more runs in the 4th. Baker and Anderson hit home runs. Anderson was 3-4 (3B, HR), 4 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Heikkila added 3 hits & scored 3 times. Game 3 will not be necessary.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 4 Cheyenne Eagles 2 - The Drillers scored all 4 runs in the first 2 innings and held on. Kalinowski allowed 2 unearned runs on 1 hit with 12 Ks and 3 walks. Pownell & Reid had 2 hits & scored 1 run apiece.

Moorehouse homered among 2 hits & 2 RBIs, and Greiman added 2 hits & 2 more RBIs. The Rustlers were held to 1 hit. Game 3 is not necessary.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 14 Green River Knights 0 - Hedges threw a 1-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. Jackson doubled, homered, and drove in 3 runs. Owens added 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Lovell scored 5 in the 1st and finished it off with 7 runs in the 3rd.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 11 Green River Knights 0 - Knights are eliminated - Lovell qualifies for the state tournament - 4 Lovell pitchers combined on another 1-hit shutout with 6 Ks and 0 walks.
