The final weekend is here for small school boys’ basketball teams. Two squads will earn a state championship during the first full weekend in March 2026. The Class 1A and 2A boys’ basketball state tournaments will be in Casper at the Ford Wyoming Center (FWC), Casper College (CC), and Natrona County High School (NC). Both defending champions have a shot to repeat after qualifying for the state tournament. The Thermopolis Bobcats captured the 2A title last year. Lingle-Ft. Laramie won the 2025 1A boys’ title.

WYOPREPS 1A-2A BOYS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE 2026

Day one action is at the Ford Wyoming Center. Day two is at Casper College. The consolation and third-place games are at Natrona County High School. The championship is at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday, March 7, 2026. It is the second of the four small school state championship games.

1A BOYS STATE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

THURSDAY, MARCH 5:

Final Score: (3W) Burlington 69 (2E) Lusk 57 - Philpott had 21 pts to lead 3 Huskies in double figures.

Final Score: (1W) Saratoga 51 (4E) Upton 35 - Panthers hold the Bobcats to 5 points in the 2nd half.

Final Score: (2W) Cokeville 64 (3E) Southeast 49 - the Panthers took control with a 20-10 third quarter. Thomas scored 22 pts with 6 triples for Cokeville.

Final Score: (1E) Lingle-Ft. Laramie 57 (4W) Little Snake River 29 - the Doggers allowed single digits in each of the first 3 quarters. Cook led the way with 22 pts & 19 rebs.

FRIDAY, MARCH 6:

Final Score: Lusk 53 Upton 38 – Bobcats are eliminated 

Final Score: Southeast 46 Little Snake River 45 – Rattlers are eliminated

Final Score: Saratoga 40 Burlington 29 – semifinal - Panthers reach the title game, as they scored 16 pts in the 4th qtr to pull away. Westring had 17 pts to lead Toga.

Final Score: Lingle-Ft. Laramie 49 Cokeville 42 – semifinal - Doggers get a chance to repeat. They used a 9-2 run to start the 4th Qtr to take control. LaPlante scored 17, and Cook added 14 points. Himmerich had 22 pts to lead the Panthers.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7:

Final Score: Lusk 62 Southeast 34 – Consolation Trophy Game

Final Score: Burlington 43 Cokeville 39 – 3rd Place Game

Final Score: Saratoga 50 Lingle-Ft. Laramie 45 – Championship Game = Panthers win their 2nd title in school history and first since 2020. Saratoga used a 16-3 third quarter to take the lead for good, and held off the Dogger. Hazen Williams led 3 Panthers in double figures with a game-high 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Toga was +12 in rebounding, 39-27.

Final Score: (1W) Thermopolis 65 (4E) Sundance 29 - Bomengen led the Bobcats with 21 pts and 13 rebs.

Final Score: (2W) Wyoming Indian 71 (3E) Wright 61 - Brown had 16 pts to lead 4 Chiefs in double figures.

Final Score: (1E) Pine Bluffs 44 (4W) Rocky Mountain 33 - Freeburg scored 16 pts for the Hornets, who forced 16 Grizzlies turnovers.

FRIDAY, MARCH 5:

Final Score: Shoshoni 75 Sundance 74 – 2OT; Bulldogs are eliminated 

Final Score: Wright 53 Rocky Mountain 52 – Grizzlies are eliminated

Final Score: Thermopolis 40 Big Horn 36 - Bobcats have a shot to go back-to-back. Thermopolis outscored the Rams 14-3 in the 4th Qtr and erased a 13-point deficit. Welch led the way with 12 pts.

Final Score: Wyoming Indian 68 Pine Bluffs 46 - Chiefs reach the title game in dominating fashion. They led by 13 at halftime and pulled away. Spoonhunter led 3 players in double figures with 18 pts.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7:

Final Score: Wright 62 Shoshoni 45 – Consolation Trophy Game

Final Score: Pine Bluffs 57 Big Horn 42 – 3rd Place Game

Final Score: Thermopolis 45 Wyoming Indian 38 – Championship Game = The Bobcats repeat as 2A boys basketball state champions. It is their 7th title in school history. Zak Hastie led Thermopolis with 22 points, as they overcame 16 turnovers and held off the Chiefs. The Bobcats outshot Wyoming Indian, 50 percent to 28 percent.
