Two teams will win a state championship during the first full weekend in March 2026. The Class 1A and 2A girls’ basketball state tournaments will be in Casper at the Ford Wyoming Center (FWC), Casper College (CC), and Natrona County High School (NC). Both defending champions will have a shot at three in a row after qualifying for the state tournament. The two-time defending champion in Class 1A is the Southeast Cyclones. The Tongue River Eagles are the two-time defending champs in Class 2A.

WYOPREPS 1A-2A GIRLS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE 2026

Day one action in 1A is at the Ford Wyoming Center. Day two is at Casper College. The consolation and third-place games are at Natrona County High School. The championship is at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday, March 7, 2026. It is the first of the four small school state championship games.

1A GIRLS STATE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

THURSDAY, MARCH 5:

Final Score: (2W) Burlington 68 (3E) Lusk 37 - Huskies scored the 1st 27 points of the game. Philpott's 21 pts led 3 Huskies in double figures.

Final Score: (1E) Southeast 37 (4W) Farson-Eden 23 - Booth scored 19 pts to lead the Cyclones.

Final Score: (3W) Little Snake River 69 (2E) Lingle-Ft. Laramie 64 - Evans had 19 pts and 11 rebs to lead the Rattlers to the victory.

Final Score: (1W) Cokeville 64 (4E) Hulett 17 - the Panthers led 19-9 and allowed 8 pts the rest of the game. Mia Dayton poured in 17 pts for Cokeville.

FRIDAY, MARCH 6:

Final Score: Farson-Eden 44 Lusk 34 – Tigers are eliminated

Final Score: Lingle-Ft. Laramie 56 Hulett 20 – Red Devils are eliminated

Final Score: Southeast 38 Burlington 26 - semifinal - Cyclones get a shot at a 3-peat on Saturday. Leithead led SE with 10 pts, but 3 more Cylcones finished with 8 pts each. Southeast out-rebounded the Huskies 41-16, which included 20-2 on the offensive glass.

Final Score: Little Snake River 46 Cokeville 43 - semifinal - Elyse Kisner made a 3 at the buzzer to put the Rattlers into the title game vs. Southeast. Kenzie Evans led LSR with 18 pts and 13 rebs. She also reached 1,000 pts in her career.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7:

Final Score: Farson-Eden 48 Lingle-Ft. Laramie 33 – Consolation Trophy Game

Final Score: Burlington 58 Cokeville 51– 3rd Place Game

Final Score: Southeast 31 Little Snake River 26 – Championship Game = Cyclones win their 3rd consecutive 1A girls' basketball title and 8th in school history! Kaycee Kosmicki led Southeast with 10 points and 6 rebounds. The Cyclones out-scored the Rattlers 8-2 in the fourth quarter and held LSR to 3-14 shooting in the second half.

2A GIRLS STATE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

THURSDAY, MARCH 5:

Final Score: (2W) Wyoming Indian 60 (3E) Big Horn 39 - Chiefs took control with an 18-6 3rd quarter. Dixey scored 23 pts for the Chiefs.

Final Score: (1E) Sundance 52 (4W) Shoshoni 27 - Bulldogs led by 14 at half and outscored the Wranglers 17-5 in the 3rd quarter. Mills led the way with 21 pts and 10 rebs.

Final Score: (2E) Tongue River 39 (3W) Greybull 38 - the game had 9 lead changes, and neither team led by more than 7 points.

Final Score: (1W) Thermopolis 57 (4E) Pine Bluffs 50 - Farrell and J. Owsley combined for 38 pts to lead the Bobcats past the Hornets.

FRIDAY, MARCH 6:

Final Score: Shoshoni 41 Big Horn 39 – Rams are eliminated

Final Score: Greybull 50 Pine Bluffs 49 – Hornets are eliminated

Final Score: Sundance 55 Wyoming Indian 48 – semifinal - Bulldogs advance to the title game. Mills led Sundance with 24 points. The Bulldogs closed the game on a 16-0 run.

Final Score: Thermopolis 67 Tongue River 53 – semifinal - The Bobcats reach their 1st title game since 2013. Jayssie Owsley had 25 pts and 13 rebs to lead Thermopolis, who ended the Eagles' quest for 3 in a row. Chaney Reish had 27 pts in the loss for TR.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7:

Final Score: Greybull 49 Shoshoni 47 – Consolation Trophy Game

Final Score: Wyoming Indian 55 Tongue River 51 – 3rd Place Game

Final Score: Sundance 49 Thermopolis 41 – Championship Game = Bulldogs win the 2nd title in school history and first since 2018. For most of the game, neither team led by more than 5 points, but Sundance pulled away. Jaylin Mills scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Karly Marchant added 11 points and 10 boards.
