Just two weeks remain in the cross-country regular season for prep athletes in the Cowboy State. The week begins with a small two-team meet between Lyman and Rock Springs. Cody and Thermopolis host on Thursday, while some bigger schools head to either Idaho or South Dakota. Friday features Wheatland hosting and teams heading to Colorado, Nebraska, or South Dakota. On Saturday, Wright hosts an annual memorial race. Conference cross-country meets are only two weeks away, and the state championships are three weeks from Saturday.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE WEEK 6 2024

This is the Week 6 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.

Wednesday, Oct. 2:

Lyman XC Meet at Lyman HS Football Field – Evanston, Green River, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs.

Aria Wheeler of Rock Springs won the girls' race by 3 seconds. Lyman's Odin Eyre took the boys' race by 17 seconds. The Lyman girls and Rock Springs boys took 1st in the team standings.

 

Thursday, Oct. 3:

Bobcat XC Invitational 2024 at Thermopolis Golf Course in Thermopolis, WY – Thermopolis

Only Thermopolis ran in the boys' varsity division. No varsity girls' competed.

Cody Foxes and Hounds at Olive Glenn Country Club in Cody, WY – Buffalo, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Worland.

Kinley Cooley from Powell finished first in the girls' race at 18:57.14. Cody won the girls' team title. Trajn Swalstad won the boys' race at a time of 15:39.34. Worland won the team crown.

Out-of-State Events:

Bob Conley Invitational in Pocatello, ID – Evanston, Jackson, Mountain View, Star Valley.

Jase Burton & Habtamu Wetzel went 1-2 in the varsity A division of the boys' race. Star Valley won the team title. Mckynly Stephens of Mountain View took 4th in the varsity B division. Jolynn Jones of Jackson took 3rd in the varsity A division. Dash Madsen of Mountain View took 12th in the boys' varsity B division. Mountain View was 3rd in the team standings. 

Sturgis Invitational Cross Country Meet in Sturgis, SD – Campbell County, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Thunder Basin.

Ally Wheeler of Natrona County won the girls' race at 18:42.18. That led NC to the team crown. Patrick Hardesty of Thunder Basin took 2nd in the boys' division. Sheridan finished 1st in the team standings.

Friday, Oct. 4:

Wheatland Cross Country Meet 2024 at Lewis Park in Wheatland, WY – Cheyenne South, Douglas, Ft. Washakie, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga, Wheatland.

Raelyn Goff of Wheatland and Noah Blasi of Rawlins won the individual races. The Douglas girls and Rawlins boys placed 1st in the team rankings.

Out-of-State Events:

Lakota Nation Invitational in Rapid City, SD – St. Stephens, Wyoming Indian.

Dai'Onna Posey of Wyoming Indian won the girls' race at 21:20.40. She led the Chiefs to the team title, as well. Jordan Black took 3rd for Wyoming Indian. The Chiefs made it a sweep of the team crowns.

Pat Amato Classic in Northglenn, CO – Cheyenne Central, Laramie.

Adalyn Racines from Central was the top girl in 26th place. Race Morrell took 3rd in the boys' race at 15:43.

Scottsbluff Distance Festival in Scottsbluff, NE – Cheyenne East, Torrington.

Kaycee Kosmicki of Torrington won the girls' race at 21:04.72. Sully Wilson of Torrington placed 4th in the boys' division. The East boys were 5th in the team standings.

 

Saturday, Oct. 5:

Brittany Rentas Memorial XC Meet at Haycreek Golf Course in Wright, WY – Big Horn, Glenrock, Hulett, Moorcroft, Lusk, Rocky Mountain, Sundance, Wright.

Wright's Carolina Navarro and Tobyn Teigen swept the races. Glenrock won both team titles.
