Eian Smith of Pinedale finished his prep rodeo career with an appearance at the National High School Finals in Rock Springs in the bareback. He'll be taking his skills to the next level as he signed on with Central Wyoming College in Riverton.

At the NHSFR, he took 7th place in the 2nd performance of the bareback with a 57 and placed 3rd in the 11th perf with a 67. Smith was 42nd in the first go and 13th in the 2nd go so he placed 27th in the average. That's pretty good considering the size of the contestant pool at the finals and the quality of the stock.

During the regular season in Wyoming, Smith was 3rd in the bareback and won 3 performances; in Newcastle, Casper, and Sheridan. He placed 2nd 6 times and 3rd 3 times.

Back in the day, Smith took 2nd place in the bareback at the 2018 Junior National Finals in Montana.
