The first playoff game between Riverside and Dubois will take place tonight in Basin, as the fourth-ranked Rebels host the No. 5 Rams in the quarterfinal round of the Class 1A 6-man football playoffs. It is the first football game between the two schools since 2019. Riverside is 5-3 on the season, while Dubois is 4-3.

The Rams have an edge in total offense entering the game. They average 404 yards and 51.6 points per game compared to the Rebels, who are at 312 yards and 37 points per game. Defensively, they are very similar. They rank sixth and seventh in total defense. Dubois allows 382 yards and 40 points per game. Riverside is right behind at 385 yards and 38.8 points per game allowed.

WyoPreps spoke with both head coaches about the playoff matchup. Rebels’ head coach Jason Mitchell feels good about how they’re playing considering who they’ve lost to, but he realizes they still have room for improvement. Mitchell said they can’t beat themselves, provided his thoughts on the Rams, and more. Dubois head coach Dan O’Brien feels good about his squad and how they’re playing, talks about some of the talent they have, looks ahead to Riverside, and more.
