Meeteetse Outlasts Hulett in 1A 6-Man Football
A pair of high-powered offensive teams met in Park County in the 6-Man ranks as Meeteetse played host to Hulett. Meeteetse had played one game before this match-up, beating Dubois 54-42. Hulett split their first 2 games with an 85-74 win over HEM and a 66-36 loss to Riverside.
It was a back-and-forth rec game with the team going up and down the field. Meeteetse received 171 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns from Jacob Moody and 114 yards on the ground from Max Potas and 2 scores. Potas by the way had 14 tackles on defense with Jonathan Ogden wracking up 11 tackles.
Coming into the game, Hulett quarterback Kyle Snith had tossed 15 touchdown passes with 3 interceptions and was a machine when it came to total offense. Receiver Ben Harrison had 28 catches and 5 touchdowns through the first 2 games of the year and McCoy Strong had caught 19 balls with 6 TDs.
Meeteetse would win this one 53-48 so they are 2-0 and are scheduled to play Ten Sleep this week. Hulett drops to 1-2 and the Red Devils have a big game on Saturday, hosting a very good Burlington team. We do have a handful of photos of that Meeteetse-Hulett game from Angie Erickson and they can be found in our gallery below.
