Ethan Leslie’s Masterpiece Powers Kelly Walsh to 4A Soccer State Title [VIDEOS, PHOTOS]
Kelly Walsh senior Ethan Leslie saved his best for last. He scored four times, also known as a ‘haul’ in soccer, and helped the Trojans win the 4A boys’ soccer state title in 2026 with a 4-1 victory over Jackson. Kelly Walsh won its first championship in 14 years, and in the process, the Trojans snapped the Broncs’ 51-game unbeaten streak.
Leslie scored all four goals for KW. He tallied just over a minute into the match to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead. Leslie added a goal on a penalty kick in the 28th minute for a 2-0 advantage. That was the score at halftime.
Ethan completed his hat trick in the 44th minute for a 3-0 lead. Jackson got on the board with a goal from Kyrem Berestain Martinez about five minutes later. The Broncs tried to chip away, but failed to find the back of the net again. Leslie completed his haul in the 77th minute, and that capped the scoring. Ethan finished with 30 goals in the 2026 season.
WyoPreps got the PK goal, a couple of celebrations by the Trojans, and then caught up with seniors Laird Larsen, Braxdon Anderson, and Leslie to describe the feeling of winning it all and going out on top. We also discussed what it took to knock off Jackson.
Anderson made six saves in goal. Kelly Walsh won its first boys’ soccer crown since 2012. It was the seventh in school history. The Trojans finished the year at 17-2-2. Jackson’s final record was 17-1-1.
