PhotoFest: Sheridan Boys Edges Rock Springs in Chey. Tournament
One boys basketball team that has come out of the gate quickly is Sheridan as the Broncs have won their first 8 games of the season. They went 3-0 in the Cheyenne Winter Showcase Tournament over the weekend, beating Wheatland, Riverton, and Rock Springs.
Sheridan held off a pesky Rock Springs squad on Saturday 69-59 thanks to plenty of fortitude. The Tigers made more than a few runs to shrink the Sheridan lead but the Broncs answered every single time. They were led in scoring by Nate Miner with 23 and Brayden Brutlag chipped in 14.
Rock Springs has some size and athletes so they're going to be formidable. They got 28 points in the Sheridan game from Sam Lionberger and 9 from Boston James. Lionberger has been averaging 12 points a game and James 14. The Tigers went 1-2 in the tournament and are 3-3 on the season.
