PhotoFest: 3A State Basketball-Thursday

The State 3A Basketball Tournament kicked off at the Ford Center in Casper. On the boys' side, both of the #1 seeds advanced to the semi-final round as Powell dispatched Rawlins 76-45 and Douglas beat Pinedale 80-52. Wheatland, a #3 seed defeated Lovell 43-41, hitting the game-winning shot at the buzzer while Buffalo, a #2 seed beat defending champion Worland 39-35.

So in the boys' semifinal round at Casper College on Friday, Powell at 24-0 will play 14-10 Buffalo and 7:30 pm while Douglas at 22-3 meets 17-9 Wheatland at 9 PM.

On the girls' side, both top-seeded teams were victorious on Thursday. Defending champion Douglas drilled Lyman 59-32 and Pinedale outlasted Wheatland 49-42. The pair of #2 seeds also advanced to the semi-finals as Mountain View defeated Torrington 46-31 and Buffalo got by Powell 59-49.

In the girls' semi-finals at Casper College on Friday, Douglas will take their 25-0 record in the final 4 and play 21-5 Mountain View at 4:30. Pinedale with a record of 21-3 draws 21-3 Buffalo in the other semi-final at 6 PM.
