
Lingle-Fort Laramie & Pine Bluffs Split Basketball Doubleheader
A couple of schools in the southeast part of the state locked horns on Saturday as Lingle-Fort Laramie from the 1A ranks took on Pine Bluffs from the 2A classification. The LFL boys team has been sensational this year and handled Pine Bluffs 56-36. LFL came into the game as the #1 ranked 1A boys team in our WyoPreps poll, and Pine Bluffs was ranked 4th in 2A. The Doggers leads 1A in scoring, shooting, and defense and have two guys who are averaging 17 points a game apiece in Brody Roberts and Brady Cook. Lingle Fort Laramie also beat Southeast last week so they're 16-0 in the season. Pine Bluffs is 9-7 on the season with Carsten Freeburg pacing the Hornets with a 20 points per game scoring average.
In the girl's game, Jessica Hoffman of Pine Bluffs threw in 17 points to lift the Hornets over Lingle-Fort Laramie 60-45. Hoffman is Pine Bluffs leading scorer, averaging 14 points a game, with Avery Gray averaging 9 per game. They were ranked #2 in our 2A WyoPreps poll, and the Hornets are 12-5 5 so far this season. Lingle-Fort Laramie came into the game ranked #3 in the 1A girls poll, and the Lady Doggers split their games last week thanks to a 5-point win over Southeast on Thursday. LFL is 13-3 so far this season and is getting 11 points a game from Skyla Wunder and 8 points per outing from Jordynn Speckner.
